MICHELLE
HOUWERS

Michelle started writing in 2011, shortly before the alleged end of the world. Born in the Netherlands in 1992 and raised in Athens, she is an insurance broker and freelance translator by day and a writer and singer by night.

She has been a member of the 80s band “Yeah!” since 2013, working on new and old songs and performing live. Staying true to her on-stage adrenaline addiction, she started actively participating in Poetry Slam contests in Athens and has fallen in love with the concept ever since. Michelle is the runner up of the National Poetry Slam Championship 2020 in Greece and she is coming from Athens to give us an unforgettable performance. 

 

Her writing style focuses on spiritual liberation that derives from emotions often regarded as commonalities. For her, the ultimate goal is to discover one’s collective self as it emerges from experience and pain, and use it to connect with other people.

Michelle will do a solo performance and she will also collaborate for the first time with the band "True Love W8s", in a poetic concert.

Michelle is one of the poets who are still running a poetry blog and it´s updated very often.
